Patrick Gambuti Jr.

Patrick Gambuti, Jr. is an Emmy Award winning editor. In 2007-2008, he worked as editor and co-director on “At the Edge of the World”, a cinema verite documentary following the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society as they pursued the Japanese whaling fleet off the coast of Antarctica. In 2007 he also cut a short film titled “A World Away” about the Apollo 11 Moon landing, and did a recut for the film “Montana Meth”, a part of HBO’s series on addiction. Gambuti was also supervising producer on this film. “Montana Meth” was chosen to be the opening night film at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. Gambuti cut and co-produced a feature documentary, “Sons of Sakhnin”, about the plight of the Arab-Israeli as shown through the residents of Sakhnin, Israel and their soccer team. “Sons of Sakhnin” was cited by Sports Illustrated as being the best sports film of 2007 and their pick of the festival at the Tribeca Film Festival. Other projects include: "World Series of Poker" for 441 Productions and ESPN as an editor/producer. "The Lance Chronicles", a 13 part documentary series on Lance Armstrong’s quest for his 6th Tour de France victory, for OLN. “Shark Mountain” as editor and sound designer in early 2004 for the Nature series (PBS). The film premiered in November 2004 and received “Best Editing” honors at the US International Film Festival in Los Angeles. “No Oxygen”, which he also directed. "Crank: Made in America”, a hard hitting documentary for HBO’s America Undercover series which he also co-produced. “Crank” had a special screening for members of the Senate and Congress and has won numerous awards. "Crank" is still showing on HBO. “What’s Up in the Environment”, a special for PBS which was awarded a regional Emmy. “Aeros: Inside Upside Down”, a multi-version “making of” documentary for BRAVO. “Under Antarctic Ice” a High Definition documentary for the PBS Nature series which aired in January 2003 and premiered at The Jackson Hole Film Festival. “Dizzy” a biography on Dizzy Gillespie for A&E. “Suicide” a documentary for HBO’s America Undercover series which garnered Gambuti an Emmy for best editing in a documentary and aired in early 2001. “Trick or Treat : Hookers & Johns” the third in a series of films about hookers for HBO.
