Jamie Kirkpatrick

Jamie Kirkpatrick began his career in film as a Film Support Rep at Avid Technologies in Tewksbury, MA. After two years filled with first-class technical training (and a lot of annoying questions), Jamie moved to Los Angeles to work for a small Avid rental house that catered to independent films as an in-house assistant editor. This allowed him to work on several films at a time and amass a lot of hands-on experience in a short amount of time and with many different directors and editors. Two years later, he went freelance and was the first assistant on South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut. After several more features in L.A., Jamie moved to New York and spent a year and a half as an assistant (and sometimes editor) on numerous commercial spots and music videos while working at the some of the top commercial post houses in New York. He returned to features, often working with esteemed editor Sarah Flack before becoming the sole editor on The Groomsmen for director Ed Burns. With his subsequent work in both film and advertising, Jamie has consciously tried to choose projects that vary in style and genre as a way to continue to hone his craft. Jessica Rosa
